solid STAY, great LOCATION

great location good value
i found the location convenient , being so close to Hallgrimskirkja church and the main street. the bus station was also within a 10-minute walk. the value for money was good , particularly for a solo traveller like myself.
one minor issue was the lack of air freshener in the bathroom , and there was a bit of condensation on the windows. the condensation dripped onto the floor near the window seal , but it was not a huge problem since i spent most of my time out on tours.
Facilities
9/10
the kitchen was well equipped , including a microwave and toaster if guests wanted to reheat food. tea , coffee , and water were readily available in the kitchen. towels were available at any time if i needed more.
Service
9/10
the staff were helpful and readily available to answer any questions. they provided freshly baked bread for breakfast , which i enjoyed. the staff were friendly and accommodating to my needs .
Rooms
8/10
the room had its own sink , WHICH i found very convenient. i was able to adjust the heating in the room at any time. the beds were comfortable and the room was clean.

wonderful stay!

fresh bread helpful staff
i found simple breakfast options with tasty freshly baked bread. the staff gave help with queries. towels became available at any time i needed. tea, coffee and water was in the kitchen. kitchen equipment suited me to reheat food. the surrounding area includes a church. i could turn up the heating in the room, that included a sink, handy.
the bathroom lacked air freshener. condensation formed on windows, then it dripped onto the floor. i spent so little time there, tours occupied my schedule. it was not an inconvenience.
Dining
9/10
breakfast included bread. the dining area looked large and nice. staff baked the bread. i think it was tasty.
Facilities
8/10
the kitchen has equipment. i used this kitchen for reheating something. the kitchen had a microwave and toaster. storage was an option. they offered to store luggage in the breakfast area. this assisted different guests arriving.
Rooms

Excellent Location and Service

central location kitchen facilities fresh breakfast
The central location allowed easy access to Hallgrimskirkja church and the main street. The proximity to bus stop 8 was a significant advantage for tour pickups. I used the kitchen facilities to prepare my own meals, it helped save money (a welcome bonus in Iceland). Breakfast offered a fresh buffet with many options.
The lack of an elevator made carrying luggage upstairs a bit challenging.
Facilities
9/10
The guesthouse features a functional kitchen complete with a full oven and hob. Luggage storage is available , this allows convenient storage before check-in or after check-out. A breakfast room is available to start your day with the buffet service.
Rooms
8/10
The room included USB charging points. The windows offer some views of the surrounding area (though buildings mainly). A wash basin within the room adds convenience.
Dining
9/10
Breakfast includes various options. Common food items like oil, salt, and pepper were available in the kitchen. The variety ensured there was something for everyone, I found.
Location
10/10
The location is within walking distance of many attractions. Free parking can be found nearby on the surrounding streets. The central location made exploring convenient, I could easily walk to restaurants and shops.

full oven usb charging functional base
the kitchen had a full oven (a total bonus!) and a hob for cooking. it was definitely a functional base for exploring. i found the usb charging points in the room super useful, it really makes a difference when you're out all day.
my room was on the ground floor so there was a bit of door banging at night, it didn't bother me too much though.

unclean bathroom thin walls
this building felt older than the main guesthouse shown online. also, the shared bathroom for the four rooms in this building was not cleaned during my entire stay. the trash overflowed, and the thin walls meant i heard everything.
